Philip Naughton QC

He is a practising barrister at 3 Serjeants' Inn, with an international practice specialising in commercial, construction and engineering law and professional negligence. He has played a significant part in the development of the use of ADR in Britain. He was instrumental in the founding of CEDR and was a Director from 1990 to 1999. He is Vice-Chairman of the Bar ADR Committee. He was a speaker on "Introduction to ADR" for the Judicial Studies Board seminars for English judges. He has arranged and presented numerous seminars and written many articles on ADR. He is a member of the International Panel of Distinguished Neutrals, CPR Institute for Dispute Resolution (New York). He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is accredited by CEDR and since 1992, has mediated both national and trans-national disputes including some of the most complex cases concluded in Europe. Individual claims have been valued in excess of £1bn and have involved as many as 17 parties. Disputes have concerned commercial issues, engineering and construction, maritime, oil and gas, manufacturing contracts, insurance law and practice, fraud, professional negligence, supply and leasing contracts and other business issues.
